Mrs Ward shared her career in politics, including her time working as part of the Foreign Office, and her current work representing local residents in her ward. Students and staff thoroughly enjoyed Mrs Ward's visit and found it insightful to see how local government operates.

Medicine, Dentistry, Veterinary Sciences Guild

As part of our MDV Guild (Medicine, Dentistry, Veterinary Sciences) students attended a talk from a patient with cervical dystonia.

Sixth formers were able to ask specific questions about dystonia and movement disorders and learn about the intricate brain operations involved in inserting electrodes as a treatment. Throughout this experience, all MDV students demonstrated genuine interest, empathy, and maturity, making a strong impression on our guest.

Our MDV Guild is part of our elective programme. All Year 12 students attend a weekly elective period which provides them with the opportunity to engage in something meaningful and be curious beyond their P16 studies.
