Students were given a tour of the grand library and an academic referencing workshop by the university’s librarians. Followed by an undergraduate style lecture by Dr Nicola Abbott, in her specialism, on social psychology and bystanders.

Mrs Ward shared her career in politics, including her time working as part of the Foreign Office, and her current work representing local residents in her ward. Students and staff thoroughly enjoyed Mrs Ward's visit and found it insightful to see how local government operates.

Students Support Refugee Charity 'Choose Love' with Ramadan Event

Our student-led Islamic Society and our MAAC (Middle Eastern, Asian, African, and Caribbean) Society have worked together to put on an event to celebrate Ramadan.

A huge thank you to Shafkat who organised the event, with help from Mahum, Paige, Beatriz, Rihanna and Ayman who brought in homemade food and volunteered on the stall. A special mention to Mahum and our HAR helpers who created intricate Henna designs!

This event raised £238.14 today, with all proceeds going towards supporting the charity Choose Love. This charity provides humanitarian aid to, and advocacy for, refugees around the world.

Thank you to all sixth formers, HAR students and staff who have supported this cause today. We look forward to the next society fundraiser event!
