Mrs Ward shared her career in politics, including her time working as part of the Foreign Office, and her current work representing local residents in her ward. Students and staff thoroughly enjoyed Mrs Ward's visit and found it insightful to see how local government operates.

Business (Vocational)

Our technical qualification in Business (OCR Business Extended/Diploma - Cambridge Technical) develops students’ core skills and understanding of the requirements of the business sector.

Students have the opportunity to focus on specific topics such as human resources, marketing, accounting and business planning.

OCR Cambridge Technical Business Studies provides a comprehensive and practical understanding of the intricate dynamics of the contemporary business environment. This course is designed to equip students with the knowledge and skills necessary to thrive in a rapidly evolving global marketplace. Students delve into various aspects of business management, including marketing, finance, human resources, and operations, and develop a nuanced understanding of the interplay between these functions.

Through hands-on case studies and practical application of theoretical concepts, students develop a deep insight into the challenges and opportunities faced by businesses of all sizes. They explore the importance of innovation and digital technologies in modern business operations, preparing them to navigate the ever-changing landscape of digital commerce and entrepreneurship.

OCR Cambridge Technical Business Studies places a strong emphasis on developing critical thinking and problem-solving skills, encouraging students to analyse complex business scenarios and make informed decisions.
