STEM Trip to Queen Mary University
Posted on: 12/11/2024Seventy STEM students from Year 12 attended a series of lectures and workshops at Queen Mary University recently, including sessions in biology, chemistry, physics, maths and psychology.
The biologists participated in a lab where they were able to take ECG and blood pressure readings, as well as conduct carbon dioxide and oxygen tests. Students were also able to use their microscopy skills to look at a range of cells.
The last part of the day was a Q&A session, led by current students and staff, which proved very useful. Topics discussed included the structure of courses on offer, scholarships and funding, accommodation, societies and social clubs.
