Students were given a tour of the grand library and an academic referencing workshop by the university’s librarians. Followed by an undergraduate style lecture by Dr Nicola Abbott, in her specialism, on social psychology and bystanders.

Mrs Ward shared her career in politics, including her time working as part of the Foreign Office, and her current work representing local residents in her ward. Students and staff thoroughly enjoyed Mrs Ward's visit and found it insightful to see how local government operates.

Harris Rainham Sixth Form Induction Day

Induction day (3)We hosted our first Harris Rainham Sixth Form induction day on Wednesday 5th July.

The afternoon started with an assembly where students listened to our values and gained an insight into what life will be like as a sixth form student at Harris Rainham Sixth Form.

Students then attended two A-Level taster sessions from their chosen subjects. These sessions delved into a topic on the A-Level course and allowed students to experience some of the content which they will be studying beyond GCSE.

The session also outlined the entry requirements and the ways the subject will be examined, as well as recommended pre-reading and preparation. All this information is also available on the subjects pages on our website.

The afternoon ended with a tour of the new site. Our brand-new building will be open towards the end of the spring term in 2024. Please see our website for more information on this.

Thank you to everyone who attended our sixth form induction day. We welcomed students from 19 different schools - it was great to see you all there!
