The Harris Federation
The Harris Federation is a not-for-profit charity. Led and run by teachers, we established our first school nearly 30 years ago.
There are 51 happy and highly successful primary and secondary academies in The Harris Federation. With each school that has joined us, the expectations we set ourselves have increased.
Almost all academies are rated good or outstanding by Ofsted. Our students make exceptional academic progress. Recent government league tables place us as the top performing large academies group for the progress made by students between Year 7 and Year 11, and the top performing large group for the competitive English Baccalaureate. The league tables also show that disadvantaged students make significantly more progress with Harris than with any other large academies groups.
As well as joint working between the teachers at our academies, there are many shared experiences for our students. These include the nationally praised Harris Experience Advanced which readies our most able students for life at top universities. We will work closely with the outstanding Harris Academy Chafford Hundred.

“One institution, however, provides evidence that poverty need be no barrier to advancement for sixth-formers if they are given an excellent academic training. This is the Harris Federation.” The Times newspaper editorial
